As a Senior Software Engineer you will play an important role within one of our development Agile Scrum teams which will involve you directly participating in the development of cost-effective and innovative embedded software solutions.
The role is very varied as you will utilise your skills and experience and in collaboration with the Technical Lead, contribute and influence software design and implementation. You will also play a key role in assisting the Scrum team in developing their skills and knowledge across the entire product codebase (Printer Software, User Interface, Comms, Interfaces etc). Our Senior Engineers take responsibility and become technical experts in many areas of the software.
As part of your role you will;
- Contribute/lead Software design activities.
- Design, implement and test code across the entire product code base.
- Be part of a multi-skilled Scrum team and involved in all activities required so the team. delivers to plan.
- Leading investigations to drive out requirements and risks and to help problem solving.
- Conduct reviews of software requirements, focusing on detailed design and test specifications.
- Support the adoption of Agile Scrum and strive to continually improve all aspects of the Scrum team’s delivery.
- Learn and improve technical and Printing Domain knowledge and skills whilst having the opportunity to explore and gain ownership, management and leadership skills.
- Supervise, mentor and lead Graduate/Software Engineers.
You will join our Software department at an exciting time as we continue to expand our team of 80 developers and test engineers. The software group are responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the software for all Domino coding and marking products whilst supporting and developing our infield products.
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience using a range of Operating systems including Linux, Windows and RTOS, working within a Scrum team with a mixture of agile abilities, C++ Programming experience along with an understanding of testing methodologies. Working knowledge of Boost, Qt and understanding the software development life cycle is desired. Have experience of a range of microprocessors/controllers, hardware/software interfacing and knowledge of system software performance and resource considerations. Desirable is also experience in designing software systems at an architectural level
