IT Support - How to Open Ports in Windows Firewall
Safety Note
This document applies to:
- The Domino Printing group
- The IT department of Domino's customers
- The end user of the Domino Automation software
- The end user of the Domino Designer software.
Description
This document aims to present how to open ports on the Windows firewall for the purpose of computer communication. It's possible that communication between printers, the server, or client workstations might not function correctly. In some cases, it's necessary to take actions in advance to open communication protocols in the firewall.
NOTE |
Some network architectures have other firewalls, such as Cyberoam devices or others. Ports will need to be opened on these devices as well (responsibility of the client's IT department). |

Step 1
Configure Windows Firewall
If the Windows firewall is active (confirm with the client's IT department), then the ports need to be opened not only on the server but also on client workstations.
