Ax-Series - How to Start-up a Printer

Step 1

Start-up to the Ready State

When the printer is in the Ready state, the ink jet will be running and the printer will print when it receives the correct print trigger and encoder signals.

  • This does not apply to Ax130i

 

  1. Ensure the power connector at the rear of the printer is connected to a power source.

  2. Press and hold the Play Stop Button.png button on the printer cabinet for 2 seconds.

The printer will now sequence on in the following order:

  1. The green indicator lights on the Power Button.png button and Play Stop Button.png button will begin flashing to indicate that the printer is starting up

  2. The TouchScreen will display the QuickStep start-up progress log

  3. The status tab will display the printer status and any faults that require attention

  4. The printer is now ready to print labels.

Step 2

Start-up to the Idle State

When the printer is in the Idle state, the ink jet will not be running and the printer will not print. changes can be made to printer settings and labels can be created or edited in the label creator.

  1. Ensure the power connector at the rear of the printer is connected to a power source.

  2. Press and hold the Power Button.png button on the printer cabinet for 2 seconds.

The printer will now sequence on in the following order:

  1. The green indicator light on the Power Button.png button will begin flashing to indicate that the printer is starting up

  2. The TouchScreen will display the QuickStep start-up progress log

  3. The status tab will display the printer status and any faults that require attention

  4. The printer is now ready to perform non-printing functions such as creating a message.

Step 3

Switch Between the Ready State and Idle State

  1. Press the Play Stop Button.png button. Or, select the Start/Stop icon on the user interface.

  2. Depending on the current printer status, the printer will enter one of the following two states:

    1. From the Ready state, the printer will enter the Idle state

    2. From the Idle state, the printer will enter the Ready state.
