Pallet Labeling

Flexible, reliable and robust print and apply labeling technology

pallet-labeling-range

Pallet labels allow for easy tracking of inventory in and out of a warehouse. Forklift operators and warehouse staff can scan the barcode on the label to record the location, movement, or storage of the pallet.

Throughout transportation and supply chain, the label enables stakeholders to monitor where the pallet is at each stage, ensuring accurate tracking during shipping.

More than just a sticky paper

The exact number of pallets shipped worldwide each day is unknown, but estimates suggest it reaches millions. Each of these pallets relies on a pallet label — a vital tool for tracking, managing, and identifying pallets throughout the entire supply chain, from producer to point of sale. A label is far more than just a sticky piece of paper; it carries crucial information to ensure the pallet reaches its destination, including:

  • Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) following GS1-standard
  • Type of goods (identified by Global Trade Item Number - GTIN)
  • SKU numbers
  • Product descriptions
  • Batch or serial numbers
  • Quantity of items on the pallet
  • Recipient details
  • Date of storage
  • Purchase order number
  • Supplier details

The Mx350i-eP pallet labeler can apply labels to up to two panels (front & side or side and rear) with one stop or up to three panels (front, side, & rear) with two stops.

No. The best industry practice for applying labels to pallets is to stop the pallet, print and apply the labels to the pallet, and then have the pallet proceed down the conveyor. This can easily be handled using I/O signals between the conveyor PLC and the Mx350i-eP.

The Mx350i-eP pallet labeler can print and apply labels to two sides of a pallet in about 12 seconds. This does not take into account the time it takes the conveyor to transport the pallet into and out of the labeling area. Typically the Mx350i-eP can achieve up to 2 pallets per minute but there are several factors to consider: conveyor speed, label length, number of labels being applied, etc.

As a stand alone system, guarding is not required as it meets the Machinery Directive 2006/42/eC, Annex 2A. However, it is advisable to do a risk assessment to ensure any local risks are eliminated prior to commissioning.

Yes, the Mx350i-eP can be fitted with a cabinet to protect it in harsh environments.
