About the role 

This is a hybrid role and can be based near one of our European locations in Bar Hill- UK (preferred) or Hamburg - Germany. The position requires regular travel to our main offices to ensure effective collaboration and operational excellence.

You will be a key member of the Operations New Product team and play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless transition of new products from concept to full-scale production. You will work at the intersection of R&D, project management, and Manufacturing to drive design for manufacture and assembly, ensure quality maturity of the product thought the lifecycle and set up the products in manufacturing readiness for customer launch.
 
Collaborating closely with design, operations, and supplier teams, you will use your manufacturing and advanced quality skills to ensure quality products are launched on time and to cost target.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and commercially minded engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Main Responsibilities 
•    Support design of the manufacturing strategy based on customer base location, key supplier base location and skills availability.
•    Support make / buy strategy and supplier selection.
•    Work with R&D teams to define Operations requirements and ensure design for manufacture, design for cost and late-stage configuration.
•    Define and ensure Manufacturing Opex and Capex cost targets for launch are met.
•    Collaborate with production and supplier teams to implement best practice assembly and test processes.
•    Use advance quality skill including PFMEA and control plans and develop and manage delivery of PPAP requirements for new products.
•    Work closely with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and components during NPD lifecycle, ensuring assembly, test and data capture processes are robust.
•    Define the test strategy and work with operations team to implement appropriate test equipment within Capex forecast.
•    Oversee trial builds and ensure issue management through to launch.
•    Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to operations deliverables including work instructions and PPAP submissions.
•    Ensure design is transferred from Design environment to ERP in readiness for launch, ensuring all data is obtained to support this including CoO, RoHS and Reach compliance data.
•    Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards and company policies.
•    Generate regular progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and challenges.
