Convenience Pouch Printing

Minimizing packaging waste makes the pouch an attractive option for many ingredients and convenience foods

Pouches are a simple, attractive option for packing many foods, sauces and even drinks, with a wide range of sizes and shapes available for food producers all over the world. Due to the formulation of the package material, Domino's Ax-Series CIJ printer is a good choice that they will received clear and detailed codes on an array of food pouch materials.

Our printers are specifically engineered for the needs of Food Production Companies. We protect your food producers' interests by meticulously controlling the viscosity of our inks to ensure minimum consumption and waste and ensuring that they are safe for use on food packaging.

Thanks to the Ax-Series' IP66 rating and and wash down capability, there is no need for special maintenance requirements. That means that your facility will me production schedules. In addition, an emphasis was placed upon print speeds and fast-drying inks to keep pace with the most demanding production regimes.

Common Food Pouch Materials

Many stand up bags commonly used in food packaging include metal foil, polypropylene and some types of polyesters. When most people think of these stand up food pouches, they think of a metallic, slightly reflective sheen - think back to your grade school drink pouch. The reflective sheen was exactly what gave the metalized film its distinctive look.

Food pouches are no different. That metallic sheen in these materials is actually due to aluminum. When coupled with the Polypropylene thermoplastic and polyesters, it creates a nice, protective bag that prevents UV rays from the food, or in the case of the aforementioned drink, juice.

Again, as a continuous inkjet, the Ax is a good option for coding and marking on such packaging materials and is commonly used for food and drink manufacturers.

Beverage Pouch Materials using Metallized Polymers

You can't talk about the aforementioned types of foil/polypropylene/polyester food packaging without talking about beverages. While we've already opened the door by mentioning the old drink pouches from back in the day, we do have to go a bit further.

These metallized polymer films are used in several beverage industries including coffee, and as mentioned, the individual bags for juice in addition to a number of other commercial purposes as varied as mylar birthday balloons to decorative tinsel.

While the latter functions are a long way from your kids' juice pouch, they are a value added for the unique material mix. Where does Domino come in? Well, beyond just continuous inkjet tech, we can also utilize Gx Series of Thermal Inkjets as well on these materials for many of the same reasons as the Ax - increased uptime and impressive line speed.
