About the role

We are looking for an experienced Coordinator who can lead our Logistics Administration team ensuring that the daily and weekly shipping plan is achieved through the most effective use of resources and ensuring adherence to correct process and standards.  .

Reporting to the Warehouse and Despatch Manager, you will ensure that the daily and weekly warehouse and despatch plan is achieved through the most effective use of resources employed to deliver on time and in full, achieving medium and long-term area improvement objectives and to deliver projects across Operations.

The role demands a proactive approach to raise the overall performance in line with business and departmental objectives. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure business SHEQ standards are adhered to individually and by your team of Operatives. This includes ensuring appropriate Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments are in place and are being followed
  • Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities taking place across the site
  • Drive Continuous Improvement within the area, with emphasis on Visual Management, 6S and LEAN initiatives
  • Provide effective leadership to the day-to-day operations of the Logistics department, meeting customer requirements and efficiency targets
  • Provide coaching and development to existing and new / inexperienced Operatives to ensure competency and development of the individual in line with business objectives
  • Manage any employee issues within the department, including disciplinary, absence management, engagement, performance and development reviews, etc.
  • Ensure the completion of training for all new starters, agency workers and annual training for existing employees
  • Manage and lead the team to achieve targets and KPIs in line with service levels
  • Be instrumental in the writing, amending if necessary, of any relevant SOP’s. Check that all SOP’s are up to date and relevant
  • Organise the working area with the resources required to achieve daily/weekly delivery performance targets including, Quality, On-Time delivery & Cost
  • Liaise with Manufacturing and Planning to ensure delivery schedules and targets can be achieved, assessing and escalating any impacts accordingly
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships across the business to support collaboration and the delivery of short, mid and long-term works
  • Ensure the Oracle system is accurate and maintained at all times, producing reports and data insight on stock and order status on a daily, weekly & monthly basis
  • Take ownership of Customer Complaints relating to your area – analyse complaints finding the root cause of the issue, respond to customer and implement necessary changes to improve our service
  • Ensure all documentation and labelling relating to despatched orders meets legal standards in line with Dangerous Goods Act
  • Undertake project work on critical improvement areas for the plant and the wider operations group
  • Provide management support to Warehouse and Despatch Manager as required, to ensure achievement of area targets and development objectives. Report monthly on all aspects of progress
  • Undertake all tasks as required in accordance with standard Domino working practices and quality procedure
  • Demonstrate and role model Company values and leadership behaviours, setting the standard for the Manufacturing Team
  • Complete annual training requirements, performance and development reviews as well as Individual Development Reviews in line with the company requirements

About You

You will have a wealth of experience working within Logistics and Export roles and should be passionate about our customers (internal and external), people and processes with a strong understanding of modern manufacturing methods.

SHEQ focussed, you will be a strong influencer, an excellent communicator and competent in people management. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute and be able to demonstrate resilience, flexibility and adaptability when dealing with a high workload.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience
  • IOSH accredited training desirable
  • Candidates will have experience in leading teams 
  • Excellent IT skills, including competence in Microsoft package as well as ERP and WMS systems
  • Understanding of AVSEC regulations desirable
  • Experience of working within a chemical manufacturing environment

Aviation Security

Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need Aviation Security Clearance.  Therefore Aviation Background checks as specified by the Civil Aviation Authority - including a DBS check and 5 years’ employment/educational references - will need to be completed before the successful candidate can start the role.
