Capable of speeds of up to 250 metres per minute and flexible printing capability up to 600 dpi, it fits perfectly inline at a label converter or a production line to meet the needs of a wide range of applications across different sectors. The adoption of 2D Codes, and in particular QR codes powered by GS1 for retail packaging, allows for variable data such as best before dates, batch codes, and serialisation to be included within each code. This puts more demands on the ability to run short-run production lines, reduce stockholding of generic packaging, and provide the ability to switch production to different variants more frequently. Late-stage customisation is the answer whether at the label converters, overprinting serialised QR codes onto pre-printed packaging, or in the factory on the production line as the product is packaged, whilst ensuring line speed and efficiency are not compromised.

Printing on a wide range of substrates, the Domino K600i digital inkjet printer combines variable data printing and productivity with 600dpi print quality. When configured to the print width required, the K600i can be integrated into an existing web or sheet handling system for digital imprinting. The K600i can print high quality digital variable data, alpha-numeric text, a range of barcodes and 2D Codes including the QR code as well as graphics, up to speeds of 200m/min.

Versatile Digital Inkjet Printing

Utilising piezo inkjet technology, the K600i digital inkjet printer is available for use with a full range of inks. These include: high impact LED-curable and UV-curable inks; aqueous pigmented inks and UV97BK, a food packaging compliant non-CMR black ink suitable for many non-direct food packaging applications.

Print widths range from a single print module, producing an image area of 108mm (4.25”) to up to seven dual print modules covering 782mm (30.81”).

Applications for this variable data printer include printing 2D codes, barcodes and numbering sequences onto labels, mail pieces, tags, tickets, forms and security products.
