Quality Systems Manager Primary Duties
  • Manage the incoming materials, WIP and finished goods quality evaluation processes including equipment calibration, physical property testing, lot record keeping and reporting.
  • Improve product quality by identifying and reducing sources of variability in collaboration with the manufacturing teams and raw material suppliers.
  • Expand the scope of the quality auditors to include audits of all site processes.
  • Manage ISO 9001 QMS system audit and continuous improvement activities.  Act as Management representative with outside registrar.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement activities for the site. Participate and lead group process standardization activities.
  • Manage customer communications regarding product and process quality.
  • Manage goal and objective setting and development of 2 lab technicians.
 Experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years managing chemical or process QC lab
 Educational requirements
  • Minimum of BS degree in physical sciences. BS in Chemistry preferred.
 Experience preferred
  • ISO-9001 QMS.
  • Lean/Six Sigma.
  • QC Mass Spectrometer, FTIR, Colorimetry, viscometry.
  • Gage reliability and reproducibility.
  • Design of experiments.
 Work Environment
  • Operation processes approximately 5 incoming raw materials and 30 WIP and finished goods batches daily
  • Items produced are 85% Class 3 Flammable liquids and 15% Class 9 Environmentally hazardous substances.
  • Teams under the Quality Systems Manager are routinely exposed to hazardous materials.
  • Laboratory is climate controlled.
