It’s our people that have empowered us to become a world leader in printing. In the next instalment of a new series that lifts the curtain on the people behind our printers – and what makes them special – we sit down with Domino’s UK Sales Support Team Leader, Natalie Rogers.

Please introduce yourself, what is your role at Domino?

I’m Natalie Rogers, the UK Sales Support Team Leader for the Domino UK Channel.  I look after the team of Sales Coordinators and our Hire and Demo Coordinator. My role is to make sure the team are meeting Sales Managers and customers’ needs in relation to samples, trials and capital orders. Ultimately, it’s all about making sure that as a team we are providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

How long have you been at Domino, and how has your role changed over the years?

I’ve been at Domino for over 11 years now. I joined in 2008, initially on a six-month contract as a Sales Coordinator, after which I was given a permanent contract supporting the Sales Managers. My main focus was helping process their capital orders and facilitating hire and demo equipment for customer trials.  Over time I began to take on more responsibility until I was offered the opportunity to manage the team. This role included responsibility for managing the Print Sample lab, which is where we complete print tests on customer products to show them what our equipment capabilities are.

What do you enjoy most about working at Domino?

One of the key things that I enjoy about working at Domino is the people. There’s a great sense of camaraderie in the UK Channel, perhaps because there’s such a focus on internal development and the recognition of talent. Domino invests in training for anyone looking to develop within their role and progress beyond it. I’ve seen many people promoted within the Channel and further out into the Domino Group functions. I also enjoy that you are always learning within Domino. It’s a cliché, but no two days are the same. Everyone is encouraged to think outside their own role; to put forward ideas and get involved in making positive improvements to the way we do things.

Could you pinpoint a standout moment in your Domino journey that led you to where you are today?

When I first joined Domino, I knew I was joining a forward-thinking and progressive company. But I was genuinely surprised when I started and saw just how much goes into the development, manufacturing, sale and after service of the products. There is so much passion within Domino to do a good job and constantly enhance our products and services. It’s nice to see that new starters coming into the business still have the same reaction.

Why do you think customers choose Domino?

Apart from offering great products, I think our customers can sense that we really do want the best for them. They are at the forefront of our ideas, products, services and business decisions. It’s about collaboration. We’re not just here to sell our customers a printer. We are here to work with them, to help them operate more efficiently and successfully, to provide a level of service and support that removes barriers to their strategic goals.

A lot happens behind the scenes to make sure that happens day in, day out. Whether they’re office or field-based, all staff are customer-focused and work towards our Customer Standard and Service Level Agreement (SLA). We communicate openly and honestly with our customers. When customers come to Domino’s award-winning site and see what we have to offer, and experience the support that is here in the back offices, it really emphasises our brand values and approach to business.

A simple ethos. But it works.

People first: it’s an internal ethos that’s etched into Domino’s values. It’s about recognising that every person, at every level, has the opportunity to nurture their career and shape the future of the company. That results in energised employees who are excited to provide great service.
